    Matthew Wilson dropped to ninth when a hydraulic pipe split on day one, leaving his Stobart Ford Focus WRC with no paddle shift gear change or functioning centre differential. A trouble-free run on day two saw him climb to sixth – a position he held until the end. Team-mate Henning Solberg had been a strong fifth, but a puncture and broken front right suspension on day two cost him dear. He eventually took the final drivers' point for finishing eighth.

    Airwaves Pro Matthew Wilson claimed fifth and set equal fastest time in the final stage of the rally. He had been battling with reigning Junior World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier (France) of the Citroën Junior Team , the duo split by just 5.1 seconds going into the final stage. However, Ogier went off the road just metres before the finish, leaving Wilson to claim the position.

    Matthew Wilson shone on the snow. On leg one he logged the sixth-fastest time on the 8km SS3 Kirkenaer, outpacing former world champion Petter Solberg in the process, and ended his day on a high by going third-fastest through the final test to place eighth overall. His battle with Solberg continued into leg two, with the Cumbrian overhauling the more experienced crew of Solberg/Mills after they suffered technical problems. He couldn’t hold off the flying Norwegian on his home rally though, and had to concede the place to him again one stage later. He had to settle for 7th overall, 10.2 seconds behind the former world champ. Wilson is now sixth overall in the drivers' championship standings - his best-ever position.

    Brit Matthew Wilson maintained a steady pace throughout the weekend as he tried to avoid falling foul of the treacherous conditions. Having been pipped to sixth place late on day two by Sebastien Ogier he upped the ante on the opening stage of the final leg as he chased down the Frenchman, taking 14 seconds out of the reigning JWRC champion on SS15 Geevagh. However, his charge was halted by a small spin on the truncated SS16 Arigna and he had to be content with seventh overall.
